Title

Conversion: Profile Definition - Personnel Development

Purpose

If you have upgraded to Release 4.6 or later, you can use this report to generate a list of the differences between your old profile view and the new SAP standard settings. You can then use this list to reconstruct your customer-specific settings.

Note

This report only creates a list - it does not change data!

Integration

Prerequisites

You only need to run this report if:

  • You use the Release 4.0 or 4.5 versions of the Personnel Development component
  • You had changed the standard Personnel Development profile view
  • You want to reconstruct these customer-specific changes to the standard profile view

Features

Selection

The report analyzes the customer-specific and standard settings for the object type headers and subprofiles of the Personnel Development profile view.

Standard Variants

Output

The report outputs a table that is sorted by object type. This table lists the names of headers and subprofiles in your old system, and the headers are subprofiles that are new or have been changed in the new standard system. Please note that only differences between the two versions are listed!

Activities

To reconstruct your customer-specific settings, make the necessary changes in Customizing.

You can go straight from the table into profile view Customizing.

Example

Result when report is run for the object type Person:

Previous customer settings New SAP standard settings
Subprofile text 'Appraisals' Subprofile text 'Appraisals where appraisee'
                             'Dislikes' subprofile
                             'Individual development' subprofile

What the table in the example means

  • The Appraisals subprofile is now called Appraisals where appraisee in the new standard system.
  • In the customer system in question, the Dislikes subprofile was not displayed for the object type Person - it is, though, in the new standard system.
  • The Individual development subprofile is new, and is displayed for the object type Person.
