Purpose

You can use this report to identify inactive claims and to inform the appropriate claim handler accordingly. A claim is considered inactive if it has not been processed for a certain number of days and if it meets other selection criteria (such as internal claim type and claim status) (see "Selection" below).

When the system identifies a claim as being inactive, it triggers BRF event INACTIVE_CLAIM. This BRF event then executes BRF action 0A2_INACTIVE_CLAIM. SAP supplies the following sample Customizing:

Activity 0INACT is assigned to action 0A2_INACTIVE_CLAIM. This activity creates a task informing the appropriate claim handler that the claim is inactive.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

Selection

You can use the following selection criteria to restrict the hit list:

  • Internal claim type
You can specify one or several internal claim types.
  • Claim status
You can specify one or several claim statuses.
  • Number of days since the claim was last changed.
The current date is the starting point.

Notes:

  • If you use broad selection criteria, in other words you expect a large hit list, you should schedule this report RICL_INACTIVE_CLAIMS_NOT as a background job.
  • You can set the Display Claim Details flag in the Mode section.
The system then checks additional data such as policyholder, internal claim type, and cause of loss.
Since this is runtime-intensive, only use this option for a test run in online mode. Do not use this option if you execute the report as background processing.

Standard Variants

Output

  • Test run:
In the test run the system only displays the claims that the system has identified as being inactive.
  • Realtime run:
In realtime, the system also displays the claims that the system has identified as being inactive.
In addition, the system displays the message log from direct input processing. This message log contains all errors and other messages that the sytem created when creating a task for each inactive claim. To call the message log, choose the appropriate button in the toolbar.
