Purpose

This history of the top-down distribution lists the relevant distribution runs for the selection criteria specified. It provides detailed information on the execution based on the technical settings previously configured in transaction KE28T.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

Selection

Choose which distribution runs are to be selected:

  • Distribution runs that were started with a KE28 variant
  • All distribution runs that were started for the periods to be specified
  • Distribution runs that were started with a KE28A variant

Note the distinction between the two variants:

  • KE28 variant: Defined in transaction KE28 and can only be used there and in transaction KE28A as a basis.
  • KE28A variant: Defined in transaction KE28A and contains settings from the KE28 variant. This variant may also have been scheduled as a job or used in the Schedule Manager or Closing Cockpit.

Standard Variants

Output

The display is divided into two areas:

  • In the left screen area, all distribution runs are displayed in a hierarchical overview.
  • In the right screen area, the details for the distribution run are displayed, which you select by double-clicking in the overview.

You can extend the screen areas to fill the entire screen by hiding the left or right screen area using the Show/Hide Overview (hierarchy icon/F5) or Show/Hide Run (F6) pushbuttons provided.

If you have selected a distribution run that you started using a variant, you can change the technical settings specifically for this variant (Technical Settings pushbutton) and save these as variant-specific.

You can use the Personal Settings pushbutton to specify with which views, tab pages (further details below), and user-defined layouts the history is to be started.

Left Screen Area

You can use the Change View option to control whether the hierarchy is to be arranged according to variant, period, or time of execution. When you change the view, the overview is updated automatically, which means new distribution runs that meet the selection criteria are also loaded.

An icon before the date of the distribution run indicates whether the run is a test run, an update run, or a cancellation.

To display the line items generated by the distribution run, click the icon in the Line Items column.

To start a profitability report, click the icon in the Report column. This opens the Execute Profitability Report function (KE30) in a new session. Information relating to this function is displayed in a dialog box in the old session.

To cancel the distribution run (also in a deviating period), choose the icon in the Cancel Run column and confirm the confirmation prompt displayed in the dialog box.

Depending on the layout setting, the first three distribution characteristics are displayed per variant in the Distribution Level columns. This allows you to quickly classify the variant.

You can filter the distribution runs displayed according to the following criteria:

  • Successful Update Runs
  • Successful Test Runs
  • All Runs Containing Errors
  • All Runs Ending with Warnings
To do this, choose the drop-down arrow next to the filter icon.

You can also filter according to further criteria.

Right Screen Area

Definition Tab Page

This displays all settings that were used when the distribution run was executed.

Log Tab Page

Depending on the technical settings (KE28T) for the log, the data is either always available in the log (because it was saved to the database) or is available only once the distribution run has been executed. You can also specify in the technical settings in particular in which cases the various log data is to be generated either once or continuously.

Results Tab Page

In a dynamically generated list, the values for all characteristics to be applied and for all value fields to be distributed are displayed for each sender of the distribution run. Other characteristics are not relevant for a sender because these are either distribution characteristics or have been summarized using such characteristics in accordance with the definition for the distribution run. A sender is always indicated as distribution relevant in the list if it contains a non-initial value for at least one value field to be distributed. You can hide senders that are not relevant for distribution (by choosing the Hide Senders Without Values pushbutton) or these are not taken into account at all for the log due to the technical settings configured. The latter has a positive impact on the performance of the distribution run.

If the receivers of a distribution run were also logged based on the technical settings, you can display the receivers for each distribution-relevant sender by choosing the figure displayed in the Receiver column. The receivers are then displayed below the corresponding sender in a separate list that contains relevant information (from the perspective of the distribution run) on the values of all characteristics at distribution level, of all value fields of the reference base (indicated in green), and of all distributed value fields for each receiver. Here, you can also hide receivers that are not relevant for distribution (such as receivers with initial values in all value fields to be distributed) by using the Hide Recipients Without Values pushbutton; receivers with initial references bases are only logged if this is configured in the technical settings. You can use the Reference Base in % pushbutton to convert the reference bases for the receiver from absolute values to a percentage figure (and the other way around). This changes the quick info in the Revenue column from Reference Base to Reference Base in % as a result.

Messages Tab Page

All messages displayed when a distribution run is being executed are listed here. You can show or hide various message types.

Technical Data Tab Page

Information about the type of distribution run and when it was executed is available here. If you delete the log data for the selected distribution run, the header data remains. If you want to delete the log data for multiple distribution runs simultaneously, you can use transaction KE28R.

The document numbers from CO-PA line items resulting from this distribution are also displayed.

The runtime analysis shows how long the individual steps of the distributed required to be executed. Note that the total time taken for a distribution run is generally greater than the sum of the times measured for the individual steps, since not all steps for a distribution run are logged. The runtime analysis also indicates the number of data records read (senders and reference bases) or the number of new data records generated (receivers and credit line items). The level of detail displayed in the runtime analysis depends on the technical settings (KE28T).
