Purpose

You use this report as a sample E-Discovery report to search for a Business Object Repository (BOR) object. You search for BOR objects in the Flight (SFLIGHT) and Flight Schedule (SPFLI) tables. You can search from any of the following sources:

  • Database - Searches for BOR objects only in the database. The propagation of the legal hold is enforced only when the data is archived.
  • Database and SAP Archive Information System (AS) - Searches for BOR objects in database and archives based on archive info structures. If data is available in archive the legal hold is applied on files based on the archive key. If data is available only in database the propagation of legal hold is enforced only when data is archived.
  • Database, AS, and Archive - Searches for BOR objects in database and archive info structures. It also checks the objects in the archive files. It reads through the data objects of the info structure. If data is available in archive the legal hold is applied on files based on the archive key. If data is available only in database the propagation of legal hold is enforced only when data is archived.

You can apply legal holds to the searched for objects based on the BOR object type and BOR key. The BOR object type and key are determined from a BAdI implementation class Determination of BOR Keys (CL_BADI_IRM_FLIGHT_BOOKINGS). This implementation is based on the settings in Determination of Object Instance Key for BOR Obj. and Mapping ILM object to BOR Object Type under the IRM_CUSTCustomizing.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • This report works only in Retention Management mode.
  • You must register the E-Discovery selection programs.
Note: You can register the selection program by performing the steps mentioned in Customizing under SAP NetWeaver Implementation Guide-> Application Server-> Basis Services-> Information Lifecycle Management-> Retention Management-> Register E-Discovery Selection programs.
  • You need to have access to the transaction (ILM_EDIS). The standard delivered fields are available under Define Search Fieldsand Assign Tables and Fields. The display in the selection screen is created dynamically based on the entries listed in the Customizing for Define Search Fields.
  • The participating tables in the generic E-Discovery Customizing need to be part of archiving objects and should be ILM enabled.
  • If you need to search for BOR objects from database then the IRM_CUST Customizing settings should be maintained for the corresponding ILM object. The settings include Determination of Object Instance Key for BOR Obj.and Mapping ILM object to BOR Object Type.
  • If you need to search for BOR objects form SAP Archive Information System (AS) or Archive then the archive info structures of the participating tables should be active in Retention Management mode.
  • For the SFLIGHT scenario you need to choose Define Search Fieldsfor the application area Flight Bookings (FL). You can maintain the data elements of the required search.

Features

Selection

The selection parameters displayed in the report are determined from the data elements defined in the Customizing Define Search fields.

Standard Variants

The variants have to be maintained for the selection screen parameters.

Output

The output displays all of the BOR objects from the SFLIGHT and SPFLI tables for the following sources: Database, Database and SAP Archive Information System (AS), and Database, AS, and Archive.

Activities

The report and the variant should be associated with a legal case and can be executed in background using the transaction ILM_LHM.
