Description

This report controls the stock placement of handling units. By specifying selection criteria, you determine a specific quantity of handling units that are displayed on a list screen. On this list screen, you can select the handling units that you want to place into stock. By choosing Create trfr order, you create transfer orders for the handling units selected. The system searches for the destination storage bin based on the storage bin search strategy defined in Customizing. You also have the option of manually specifying all or some of the bin coordinates. To confirm a transfer order, place your cursor on the corresponding list entry and choose Confirm in background.

If the system is unable to create a transfer order for a specific handling unit, you will find a corresponding message in the error log. After the problem is resolved, you can request stock placement for the handling unit concerned again.

The plant and the warehouse number are required selection criteria. By specifying the goods issue date, the customer, the delivery, and the handling unit, you can further limit selection. If you want to use a specific bin type for stock placement, you can enter the storage unit type for the handling units that you want to put away.

The control options allow you to choose between background and foreground processing. If you choose background processing, the system will directly create a transfer order for all handling units selected.

You always have the option of cancelling the transfer orders created by choosing TransOrder -> Cancel -> Transfer order from the WM menu bar.

Requirements

There must be a separate movement type and a separate interim storage area for stock placement. For stock placement, you have to maintain the WM view of the material master for the material that is used as a handling unit.

Output

The list displays all handling units that meet the selection criteria. If you have chosen foreground processing on the previous screen, the system will not have created transfer orders for the handling units as it will have if you have chosen background processing. You can then decide manually which of the handling units you want to place into stock.

The list screen provides the following information on the handling units:

  • External handling unit number
  • Delivery, for which the handling unit has been created
  • Goods issue date
  • Customer
  • Open transfer order number
  • Handling unit status

For each list entry, you can retrieve several details. To do this, place your cursor on the desired list entry and choose the corresponding function. The following functions are available:

  • Display transfer order for handling unit
  • Display storage bin of handling unit
  • Display quant for handling unit
  • Display delivery, for which the handling unit has been created
