Purpose

You have non-SAP products in your landscape, which are not in the SAP software catalog and have been managed in transaction SMSY manually. To maintain these non-SAP products (e.g. to assign this non-SAP product to a product system in the LMDB), migrate them from SMSY to the SLD with this report.

You have two options:

  • Migrate all non-SAP products from SMSY to the SLD.
  • Migrate one selected non-SAP product from SMSY to the SLD.

Prerequisites

Before you migrate non-SAP products to the SLD, a corresponding RFC destination with the following characteristics must have been created in transaction SM59:

  • RFC destination type is HTTP Connections to External Server (Type G).
  • RFC destination name starts with the prefix 'LMDB_SLD_CR_' (for example, LMDB_SLD_CR_MYSLD).
  • RFC destination settings:
  • On the Technical Settingstab, define the target system settings as follows:

- Target Host: name of the SLD target host
- Service No.: HTTP Port of the SLD target host
- Path Prefix: the path to select and call the HTTP request handler (/sld/cimom)
  • On the Logon & Securitytab under Logon with User, define user and password for the Basic Authentification.

Note: The user that is entered in the RFC destination must have write authorization for the objects that belong to the software catalog (role / group SAP_SLD_ORGANIZER).
  • On the Special Optionstab, define the HTTP setting as follows:

- Compression Status:disable compression; select Inactive
- Status of compressed response: disable compression response; select No
- HTTP Cookies: accept cookies for all; select Yes (All)
  • Execute Connection Testto test this connection.

Activities

  1. Under Target Selection, define the migration target as follows:
  • Destination: Select the predefined remote destination.

  • Namespace: Select the target namespace of the target SLD.

  1. Under Data for Migration, define one or all non-SAP products to be migrated:
  • Product from SMSY: Select a non-SAP product or select to migrate all non-SAP products (see above)

  • Vendor: Enter the name of the non-SAP software vendor. It is recommended that you enter the name as an URL (for example 'mycompany.corp') to avoid naming conflicts.

  1. Choose Execute.

Note: It is recommended that you migrate non-SAP products to the same SLD that provides LMDB the CR content (SAP Software Catalog), otherwise the migrated data will not be replicated to the LMDB.
Example: the LMDB is connected to SLD_1 and SLD_2, and the CR Content is provided by SLD_1. In this case, the migration should take place from SMSY to SLD_1.
