Description

Program RMMMVERW subsequently sets up the administrative data for outstanding maintenance statuses (table MOFF) and for technical data (table MSTA) if this data was not created synchronously when transferring material master data by batch input or by direct input. In each case, an indicator determines whether the administrative data is created synchronously or not (see under Batch input and Direct input below).

Batch input
Here, you set the indicator for asynchronous updating in Customizing for the Material Master in the IMG activity Make global settings. By setting this indicator, the administrative data is not updated synchronously.

Direct input
When accessing the data transfer workbench (program RMDATIND) the Set up administrative data indicator is not set. The administrative data is only updated synchronously if you set it.

In both cases, we recommend that you always run program RMMMVERW if the administrative data has not been updated synchronously since the administrative data is required for the following functions:

  • Finding out which user departments still need to extend a material master record, or finding out which material master records still need to be extended by a particular user department.
You do this on the Material Master screen by choosing Other -> Extend matl view(s).
  • Displaying administrative data
You do this when maintaining a material master record by choosing Administrative data.

You can run program RMMMVERW in one of two modes:

  • Online
  • In the background
If you select more than 50 materials, run the program in the background to avoid the risk of a timeout. This is proposed by the program in this case.

Choose the type of processing you require in the dialog box that appears.

Note

You can also use program RMMMVERW to restore any MOFF records that were inadvertently deleted by executing the function Extend matl view(s).
