RMPE_MIGRATE_UNITIZED_BOM - Migration of Classic BOMs to Version-Controlled Unitized BOMs
ABAP Short Reference PERFORM Short ReferenceThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
Purpose
You can use this report to carry out a one-time migration of your existing classic bills of material (BOMs) for unitized materials into unitized version-controlled BOMs (shop floor BOMs), which can be used in SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing for production engineering and operations (PEO).
- Note: To convert classic BOMs into version-controlled BOMs for non-unitized materials, use the report RMPE_MIGRATE_BOM.
Integration
Prerequisites
Features
The report searches for existing classic BOMs based on your selection parameters and the current system date. It migrates only classic BOMs that have not yet been migrated. Before performing the migration, the report prompts you to specify the parameter effectivity values to be assigned to the target BOMs.
Selection
The report allows you to define the following parameters and settings:
- Selection Parameters
- Here you specify for which unitized materials you want to convert the classic BOMs. If necessary, you can specify the relevant plants, MRP controllers, and production supervisors. You must also select the BOM usage of the source BOMs.
- Migration Settings
- Here you specify the BOM usage and status to be assigned to the target BOMs (that is, the unitized version-controlled BOMs).
- Execution Mode
- Here you have the following options:
- Interactive Mode
- Select this option if you want the report to display a list of the classic BOMs to be migrated based on your parameters and settings and allow you to either abort or proceed with the migration.
- Automated Mode
- Select this option if you want to execute the BOM migration in the background without any further user input.
- Effectivity Match
- Here you have the following options:
- Exact Match
- Select this option if you want to determine that all the effectivity parameters that exist for the header material of the classic BOM must also be available for the header material of the version-controlled, unitized BOM in PEO. That is, migration will only be successful if all effectivity parameters are available on both sides.
- Best Match
- Select this option if it is sufficient that the effectivity parameters in the resulting version-controlled, unitized BOM are covered - even if more parameters exist in the classical BOM. For example, the classical BOM may have three parameters of which only two are covered by the available parameters in the effectivity profile assigned to the material type in PEO. In this case, the system migrates the classical BOM to a version-controlled, unitized BOM and copies the two relevant parameters.
Standard Variants
Output
The output is determined by the execution mode:
- Interactive mode: The report outputs a table of BOMs along with their change states (date effectivity). You also see a table listing materials with invalid BOMs, for example, materials that are not unitized. To migrate the BOMs, select all or specific rows in the table and choose Migrate_BOMs. You are then prompted to specify the parameter effectivity to be applied to all the target BOMs. Once you confirm your entries, the result of the migration is shown in one or more messages.
- Automated mode: The report executes the migration in the background. You are prompted to specify the parameter effectivity to be applied to all the target BOMs. Once you confirm your entries, the result of the migration is then shown in one or more messages.
