Purpose

Since the system checks the treatment authorization every time a user attempts standard access to patient- or case-related data, optimizing system performance is very important.

Positive check results - that is, when a treatment authorization is issued - are stored for the date in question in a buffer table. This means if the result successful, the algorithmic check only needs to run once per day. These results are deleted from the database the next day.

If you select the Empty Treatment Authorization Buffer For All Users indicator when you execute the function, the system removes the positive results from the treatment authorization checks for all users.

If you deselect the indicator, the User field becomes ready for input and you can empty the buffer for an individual user or a selection of users.

When the users in question attempt to access the data after the buffer has been emptied, the system repeats the treatment authorization check and again stores a positive result in the buffer table.

You should use this report, for example, when you need to empty the treatment authorization buffer during the course of a day because you want to switch to a different security level.
