Description

You can use this report to create a batch input session for transaction NG10 (Create Customer). During this process, the system processes and reads a sequential dataset using the structure information tables TNT2 and TNT2S.

Test Mode

If you only want to test the import of the sequential dataset at first, you can run the report in test mode. To do this, select the Execute in Test Mode indicator. In this case, the system does not create a batch input session, but instead simply displays the field values on each of the screens. Test mode is particularly useful for checking the structure definition for the sequential dataset.

Note

You cannot use the program if the business function SAP Patient Management Rearchitecture BP/OM (ISH_BP_OM) is active in your system.

Requirements

You can only use the program if the business function SAP Patient Management Rearchitecture BP/OM (ISH_BP_OM) is not active.

If the length of a record in the sequential dataset exceeds 1024 bytes, you just adjust the length of buffer variable REC in the report accordingly.

A structure definition (tables TNT2 and TNT2S) must exist for the sequential dataset.

When you execute the report, you must specify the full name of the sequential dataset. If the sequential dataset contains different record types, you must specify the offset and the length of the record type ID in each record in the sequential file.

If you only want to process part of the sequential file, you can specify the lower and upper limits of the records you want to process.

If you need to convert field formats, you can do so as follows:

Define a corresponding form routine in a copy of report RNILSI20; pay attention to the customer name range. You can make all changes to the format using the field symbol <F2> . You should perform the conversion so as to achieve a valid input format for the field in question. You enter the name of the form routine and your customer report in fields TNT2-FORM (form routine) and TNT2-PROGR (program) in table TNT2.
If the sample routines RNILSI20 meet your requirements, you can skip the above step.

Number assignment:

  • If you select the indicator for all entries in the Internal Number Assignment group box, the system numbers all the entries using internal number assignment. Any existing numbers will be overwritten by this process.
  • If you do not select the indicator for all entries in the Internal Number Assignment group box, internal number assignment is deactivated. In this case, number assignment takes place externally. The system does not include entries that do not have a number in the batch input session. The system logs this process.

Output

The system displays the following information:

  • Number of records read
  • Number of these records that contain errors
  • Number of error and warning messages
  • Number of actual, or in test mode, expected batch input entries.

If you require more information about one of these four points, double click on the line in question or choose F2 to select it.

If the system actually creates a batch input session, you can access transaction SM35 (Analyze and Process Batch Input Session) directly by selecting the line displaying the number of batch input entries.

Example

  • For examples of form routines, see report RNILSI20.
  • For examples of the structure description, see tables TNT2 and TNT2S.
