Description

In preparation for the changeover to the Euro, and to provide more extensive support for currency issues, we have provided you with functionality whereby you will be able to specify whether a catalog column contains a charge factor or currency amounts as of Release 4.01. This means that the contents of a column will be interpreted either as an amount or as a charge factor. This also means that it will no longer be possible to have 'hybrid forms' whereby the column content is sometimes interpreted as a currency amount, and sometimes as a charge factor. You will only be able to make this specification in column determination for a short transition period.

You can use this report to check the consistency of a catalog column definition with regard to its currency indicator. The report checks each column of the catalogs you specify on the selection screen to see if:

  1. The catalog exists in the catalog type definition
  2. The number of digits required after the decimal point for the catalog currency is the same as the number of spaces after the decimal point defined for the catalog column
  3. The catalog column is used as a points column in column determination, but is flagged as a currency column
  4. The catalog column is only ever used as a currency column in column determination, but the currency indicator has not been set
  5. The catalog column is used both as a charge factor column and as a currency column in column determination
  6. The catalog column is not used in column determination at all

If the outcome of one of these tests is positive for a catalog column, a message appears beside this column in the results list. To display the message long text, position the cursor on the message in question, and choose Edit -> Choose. In the long text dialog, you can branch to the appropriate section of the Implementation Guide, check your entries and make any necessary changes by choosing Function entries.
