Purpose

You use this report to do the following:

  • Update the basic pay index value defined for a pay scale group and a pay scale level in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510), which is then used to calculate wage type amounts based on the salary table for public sector employees
  • Calculate the pay increase for indirectly valuated wage types used to calculate the basic pay of public sector employees

Integration

Prerequisites

You have defined the settings required to calculate the basic pay of public sector employees in Customizing for Payrollby choosing Payroll: Portugal -> Enhancements for Public Sector Portugal -> Valuation ->:

  • Basic Settings -> Process Basic Pay, Define Default Wage Type for Basic Pay, and Define Wage Type Characteristics
  • Define Pay Scale Types
  • Assign Amounts to Pay Scales Types
  • Define Pay Scale Areas
  • Define Pay Scale Groups and Levels
  • Update Pay Scale Amount

Features

Selection

You can use the following selection criteria to determine which table entries are to be changed:

Pay Scale Data

  • Pay scale type
  • Pay scale area
  • Employee subgroup grouping for collective agreement provisions
  • Pay scale group
  • Pay scale level
  • Start date

The system selects all entries made in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510) that are valid on the specified Start Date.

Update Options

You can specify whether you want to update the index value or the pay scale amount by choosing one of of the following options:

  • Update Index 100 and/or Pay Scale Index
Calculates a basic pay increase based on the values in Index 100and Pay Scale Index
The Start Date determines the validity dates of new records in the Pay Scale Groups (T510), Index Value for Pay Scale Type, Area, Group, and Level(T5PPBS8A), and Index 100 Grouping (T5PPBS8B) tables . Any new records in these tables have the same date as the start date. The end dates of the old records are equal to the Start Date less one day.
  • Update Pay Scale Amount
Finds all the categories in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510)based on just the values in Pay Scale Data and calculates the basic pay for these categories based on the salary table for public sector employees
The Start Date determines which records are updated.

Example:
You have created the following pay scale records in Customizing for Payrollby choosing Payroll: Portugal -> Enhancements for Public Sector Portugal -> Valuation -> Define Pay Scale Groups and Levels:
01.01.1990 01.01.2007 31.12.9999
"Old" amount EUR 0.00 EUR 0.00 Amount before you run the report
"New" amount EUR 200.00 EUR 300.00 Amount after you run the report
Note: The first time you update the pay scale amount, the old pay scale amount is always zero (EUR 0.00).
record 1
T510 |____________________| record 2
|____________________>
(Pay Scale Groups)
Index value = 200
T5PPBS8A |____________________| Index value = 300
|____________________>
(Index Value for Pay Scale Type, Area, Group, and Level)
Index 100 amount = EUR 100.00
T5PPBS8B |_________________________________________>
(Index 100 Grouping)
You want to update the amount of the pay scale in record 1 (in the Pay Scale Groups table), You run the report with the start date of the first record (01.01.1990.) The report retrieves the Index 100 amount stored in the Index 100 Grouping table and the index value defined in the Index Value for Pay Scale Type, Area, Group, and Level table that are valid on the start day, calculates the basic pay, and updates the amount in the record. The amount is updated to EUR 200, 00.
If you set the Start Date to 01.01.2007 and run the report, the system updates the pay scale amount in record 2 to EUR 300.00.

Index 100

You can make your pay scale changes using a percentage or a constant base amount. You can specify a Percentage Rate and Base Amount (Currency) at the same time. In this case, the report applies the percentage-based change first and then the change based on a constant amount.

You can also restrict the change amount using the Minimum Amount (Currency) and Maximum Amount (Currency) selection criteria. The wage type amount is increased by the specified minimum amount at least and by the specified maximum amount at most.

You use the Pay Scale Type and Start Dateparameters to increase the index 100 value. The system updates all pay scales in this pay scale group with the new pay scale basic pay.

Example:
The current index 100 value (stored in the Index 100 Grouping table (T5PPBS8B)) for pay scale group AA (Regime Geral) is EUR 400.00. You need to update this value by 10%, starting on 01.01.2008. The report creates a new record for the AApay scale group in the Index 100 Grouping table starting on 01.01.2008 with the value EUR 440.00 (EUR 400 + 10%). On 01.01.2008, the basic pay of all pay scales in the AApay scale group are updated in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510).

Rounding

You can round the result of the pay scale change using the Rounding Amount (currency) and Rounding Type selection criteria. The rounding amount determines the integral multiple to which the amount is rounded. The rounding type determines whether the amount is rounded up or down.

Pay Scale Index

If you specify that you want to update the index 100 value and the pay scale index, you can increase the pay scale index of any of the following:

  • Pay scale type
  • Pay scale area
  • Pay scale group
  • Pay scale level

When the index 100 increases, the system updates all pay scales in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510) that use the indexes.

Standard Variants

Output

The report typically displays an overview of all selected table entries with the old and new amounts.

Activities

You now have the following options:

  • View of Old Pay Scales
The report lists only the old amounts for the selected table entries.
  • View of New Pay Scales
The reports list only the new amounts for the selected table entries.
  • Overview
The report lists both the old and new amounts of the selected table entries.
  • Save New Pay Scales or Save
The system saves the new amounts of all selected table entries in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510).
  • Save Old Pay Scales or Save
After you have saved the new amounts for all selected table entries, you can still undo the changes in the Pay Scale Groups table (T510) if you have not already saved the new pay scales.

The report checks whether display or change authorization exists for the Pay Scale Groups table (T510).

The system automatically writes any table changes to a transport request for the corresponding customizing settings.
