Purpose

You use this report to determine the notice period given to an employee in your organization whose employment contract is going to be terminated.

Integration

Prerequisites

The notice period depends generally on the hire date of the employee of the latest (youngest) employment period that falls within the selected period. In order to determine the hire date correctly, the following rules apply:

  • If the hire date recorded in the system in the Actionsinfotype (0000) represents the actual hire date of the employee, no additional master data is needed, and the report uses this date.
  • If the hire date recorded in the system in the Actionsinfotype (0000) does not represent the real hire date of the employee, for example, due to data migration, you need to enter the real hire date in the Date Specifications infotype (0041) with date type S2: Employment date. The report uses this date and not the date recorded in the Actionsinfotype (0000).
    Note
The Date Specifications infotype (0041) is read by the end date of the period.
  • If an employee was employed several times in the organization and you need the report to include previous employment periods that are relevant, you have to convert the previous employment period into a date and enter it in the Date Specifications infotype (0041)with date type S3: Coherent date of employment.
    Example
An employee was employed by your organization from 01/01/2005 to 31/12/2005 and was then rehired on 01/01/2007. In this case, you must maintain the coherent date of employment in the Date Specifications infotype (0041) as 01/01/2006. This ensures that the system takes into consideration the one-year period in the earlier employment period when calculating the complete employment duration.

Based on these rules, the system determines the logical hire date (the hire date based on which the length of employment is calculated) in the following order of priority:

  1. Date type S3: Coherent date of employment(if defined)
  2. Date type S2: Employment date (if defined)
  3. Hire date recorded in the Actionsinfotype (0000)

The employment period is calculated up to a key date.

  • The default value of key date is the last day or end date of the selected period (PN-ENDDA)

  • If the end of employment falls within the selected period, the last day of employment is assigned as the key date.

  • If the planned termination falls within the selected period, the date of the planned termination is assigned as the key date.
The planned termination is identified by the Monitoring of Tasks infotype (0019), the subtypes that are selected on the selection screen of this report, and by the Date of taskfield which contains the last expected day of employment.

Features

Selection

  • Planned Termination
Subtypes of the Monitoring of Tasks infotype (0019). If entered, the planned termination date is retrieved from the Monitoring of Tasks infotype (0019).
  • Eligible Work Contracts
When the employment period is calculated, you can extract subperiods when an employee worked with a specified work contract type, which represent non-eligible work periods.
  • Statistic Area
Subtype of the Statisticsinfotype (0033) used to retrieve values for the job code and BSK. columns
  • Show Expiring
If you need to select and display only those employees whose employment period reaches a certain number of days since the last hire date, enter the number of days.
  • Date Types
Select the date types that determine the employment date and the coherent date of employment.

Standard Variants

Output

  • Months of employment
Number of months between the logical hire date (coherent date of employment) and the key date
  • Years of employment
Months of employment divided by 12
  • Notice period
Calculated based on months of employment
  • Age
Calculated up to the key date
