Purpose

Convert the What-If scenarios of SAP xRPM 2.0 support package 2 to enhanced scenarios of SAP xRPM 2.0 support package 3.

Integration

Prerequisites

User can override the default global setting values for Scenario Modeling delivered by SAP.

Features

For SAP xRPM 2.0 support package 3, two database fields Timeframe_Past and Timeframe_Future were added to the table RPM_PP_PRIORITY. These specify the boundaries for the scenario. The affect of these boundaries is that the scenario can always be shifted within these boundaries and the budget for the entire projects in the scenario and the scenario budget also reflects within these boundaries.

This program will convert all the support package 2 scenarios and update the database table RPM_PP_PRIORITY with the past year and the future year. It updates the version project budget table (RPM_PROJECT_CO) and the scenario budget table (RPM_SCENARIO_FIN) with all the years ranging between the past year and the future year.

Calculation of Year Range:

The scenario duration is based on the earliest planned start date and budget years, and the latest planned finish date and budget years of the original projects selected in the scenario. Since these scenarios already exist in support package 2, and the version projects of these scenarios would have shifted, we also take into account the earliest planned start date and the latest planned finish dates of these projects. The past time frame is calculated by subtracting the value of the global setting for past from the earliest date, while the future time frame is calculated by adding the value of the global setting for future to the latest date. The scenario duration is thus calculated within these two boundaries and the budget tables for the projects and the scenario are updated with the years covered by this period.

Selection

Scenario_ID, ISO Language Code, Simulation Mode

  • If simulation mode is 'ON', the system does not update the database.
  • If simulation mode is 'OFF', the system updates the database.
