RPM_REPLACE_FTE_UNIT_FOR_LILLY - Conversion of Role Demand/Resource Assignment Unit
General Data in Customer Master rdisp/max_wprun_time - Maximum work process run timeThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
Purpose
Prior to SP3, Portfolio Management uses a fixed set of unit for the role demand and resource assignment: HRS, DAY, FTE.
·,,The unit HRS stands for one hour.
·,,The unit DAY stands for a person working day, the meaning of the unit DAY depends on the role location for role demand and the resource location for resource assignment. Behind each location, a fixed number of working hours per day is stored and is used to convert the unit DAY to HRS.
·,,The unit FTE stands for Full Time Equivalent. The exact meaning of FTE is also location-dependent. For each location, a factory calendar and a fixed number of hours per day is stored. The number of hours of one FTE working in a date interval equals the number of working days (determined by the factory calendar) times the hours per day.
In other SAP applications, in most of cases, the standard unit table T006 is used for the time unit. This unit table can be configured by the customer. To make the interface with other SAP applications easier, the decision was made to convert the Portfolio Management unit to the standard T006 unit.
For this purpose, a data conversion program is provided to convert the units used in Portfolio Management to standard T006 table units. After you upgrade to SP3 and before you create any new Portfolio Management projects, you have to do the following:
1),,Back up the role demand and resource assignment table
You use the program RPM_BACKUP_UNITS_DATA to back up all the existing role demand and resource assignment data. Check the data in the tables RPM_ROLE_AVL_BAK, RPM_ROLE_AVL, RPM_REL_ALLOC_BK, and RPM_RELATE_ALLOC. They must all be consistent.
2),,Check the configuration for unit of measurement
Make sure that the units FTE and DAY are not configured as time units. If they were configured as time units, delete them from the time unit configuration. FTE is a specific unit in Portfolio Management. Do not configure it as a time unit in table T006. You can add DAY as a time unit after you have converted all projects by running the conversion program in update mode.
3),,Test the data conversion program RPM_REPLACE_FTE_UNIT_FOR_LILLY
To assist you with testing, the conversion program provides you with a simulation mode, where you can display the conversion results for some or all projects without updating the database. Check the results of the simulation run.
4),,Execute this program
RPM_REPLACE_FTE_UNIT_FOR_LILLY
in update mode with simulation mode off. After the projects are converted, the project IDs are saved in a table so that they will not be converted again unintentionally in the subsequent conversion runs.
Perform these activities in this order and before you create any new projects.

Selection
On the selection screen, you can either enter one single project to test conversion or you can enter an interval of projects to test conversion. If you don't enter anything, all projects will be converted.
If set the simulation mode to on, the database will not be updated. If you set the simulation mode to off, the database will be updated.
In the selection screen you have to enter a standard T006 time unit for one hour. You also need to enter a standard T006 time unit into which all the demand and resource assignment will be converted.
