Description

The report is to provide answers to part of Items 7, 21, and 32 of Form 5500 (Annual Return/Report of Employee Benefit Plan), based on the information available in the system.

When you run the report, the application tool bar of the initial screen has, in addition to the standard selection options, two options specifically created for this report. They are General Information, and Item 7, 21.

Selecting either of these options will display a different screen. The default screen is General Information. The function of each screen is described below.

The General Information screen is used to define the testing population. You can choose the employees to be tested by:

  • Personnel number
  • Company code
  • Personnel area
  • Personnel subarea
  • Employee group
  • Employee subgroup
  • Payroll area, and
  • Job

You can control the testing group by imposing further restrictions such as Benefit Area, Benefit Group, and Benefit Status via the dynamic selections screen
The Plan Information box asks you to enter the benefit area, benefit plan, and type of plan, such as fringe, welfare, or pension. You must also enter the plan-year begin date and end date in the Date Selection box. All of these fields are mandatory.

The Item 7, 21 screen is to get information needed for items 7 and 21 on the ERISA form. In order to identify the employees who are active, deceased, or terminated, you must maintain three features which make use of information in the Actions infotype (0000). The standard features provided are:

  • ACTIV
  • DECEA and
  • TERMI

You can copy these features and maintain your own; simply provide their names in the appropriate fields.

You must also enter the wage types indicating whether the retired or separated employees are receiving benefits.

The system then checks whether the amounts of the wage types are greater than 0. If this is the case, then the employee is receiving benefits.

In addition, you can choose which method is used for identifying highly compensated employees, by selecting the corresponding option.
