Purpose

You can use this report to test the Customizing settings defined for the following data retrieval components:

  • Configurations
  • Fields from the field selection catalog
  • Business Add-In (BAdI) fields
Example
You can test which fields are included in the short profile of a particular talent or all talents discussed in a talent review meeting, and which field contents are displayed.

For more information about data retrieval, see Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development and choose Basic Settings -> Adjusting the User Interfaces -> Configurations for Data Retrieval.

Integration

Prerequisites

Depending on what you want to test, you have made the following settings in Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development, by choosing Basic Settings -> Adjusting the User Interfaces -> Configurations for Data Retrieval:

  • Configurations
You have created a configuration under Create Configuration (view cluster HRTMC_VC_CONF_SEQ) or Create Configuration with Field Groups (view cluster HRTMC_VC_CONF_SEQ).
  • Fields from the field selection catalog
  • Under Extend Field Selection -> Add Fields to Field Selection Catalog (view V_T77TMCDRFLDS), you have entered the fields in the field selection catalog.

  • If you use fields from the field selection catalog that refer to fields for appraisals, evaluations, and surveys, you have entered them under Extend Field Selection -> Adjust Data Retrieval for Appraisals, Evaluations, and Surveys (view V_T77TMCAESFIELD).

  • BAdI fields
If you use your own fields, you have created an appropriate implementation of the BAdI BADI_HRTMC_DR_FIELDS under Extend Field Selection -> BAdI: Evaluate Fields for Data Retrieval.

Features

Selection

On the selection screen, you have the following options:

  • To test the data retrieval for the talents of a talent review meeting, select the required talent review meeting and a configuration category.
You can restrict the selection to the talents of a particular agenda topic for the talent review meeting.
The system tests the data retrieval for the configuration that is assigned to the corresponding parameter in Customizing under Configurations for Data Retrieval -> Assign Configuration to User Interface (view V_T77TMCPARAMS_DATA_RETRIEVAL).
Example
If you select the Business Card configuration category, the system tests the configuration assigned to parameter RM_BUSINESS_CARD.
  • To test data retrieval for particular talents, enter the required selection criteria manually.
You have the following options:
  • You test data retrieval for a particular configuration.

  • You test data retrieval for particular fields from the field catalog.

  • You test data retrieval for particular BAdI fields.

You can also specify whether the system executes the standard authorization checks when testing.
  • You display the fields assigned to a configuration without testing the actual data retrieval.

Standard Variants

Output

A list displays the field values for each talent. In fields for which there is more than one value, the system displays a hyperlink that you can use to access the list of field values.

You also have the following options:

  • You can use the Display Field Information pushbutton to display the information stored in Customizing under Configurations for Data Retrieval -> Extend Field Selection -> Add Fields to Field Selection Catalog.
For fields for appraisals, evaluations, and surveys (BAdI category SAP_AES), the information stored under Extend Field Selection -> Adjust Data Retrieval for Appraisals, Evaluations, and Surveys is also displayed.
  • You can use the Config. Information pushbutton to display the fields assigned to the configuration in Customizing under Configurations for Data Retrieval -> Create Configuration or Create Configuration with Field Groups.
The system displays the field label stored in the configuration and the field label that the BAdI returns.
Note
The application that the configuration uses (for example, the talent profile) displays only one of the field labels:
  • If available, the application displays the field label from the configuration.

  • If no field label is specified in the configuration, the application displays the field label from the BAdI.
