Description

Payroll accounting is carried out in the currency stipulated by the laws governing the determination of the statutory net amount. This is the currency used to transfer or report the values. The amounts in many tax tables and infotypes that are relevant to payroll accounting are defined in the currency of the public sector, for example tax-free amounts, assessment thresholds in social insurance, constants for payroll accounting. These amounts must be converted before the key date of the currency conversion.

The key dates of the conversion and the new currency are defined in the table Public Sector Currency (T500C). According to current information, the currency of the public sector will be converted when the Euro appears in cash form.

Report Selection Screen

You can set the following parameters in the report selection screen:

  • Country grouping
Enter the country grouping of the country to be converted.

  • Date of currency conversion
Enter the date on which the payroll accounting currency will be converted.

  • Test
If you want to carry out a test run, enter 'X' here. This means that no database update will be carried out.

The program first checks if there is an entry with the Euro currency for this country in table T500C. If there is no such entry yet, one is created.

If there is an entry with the Euro currency, a check is carried out to determine whether the start date entered in the subsequent parameter corresponds with the currency conversion date in table T500C. If the table contains a different conversion date, the program ends.

The program converts the amounts in all the payroll-relevant tax tables and infotypes from the old national currency to the Euro currency.

Requirements

The table Valid Country Currencies (T500C) must contain two entries for the country to be converted:

  • one data record in the old national currency, valid until the end of the dual currency phase

  • one data record in Euro, valid from the start of the dual currency phase

Output:

The program only runs once. In the Log Table for Currency Conversion EMU (T5EMUPROT), a record is kept of the tables that have already been converted. This ensures that the amounts are only converted once.
The program's input parameter is the country grouping. A name based on the country grouping is determined for a program that converts the amounts and makes the entry in table T500C for the relevant country. If no suitable program exits for a country, an error message is issued.
