Purpose

You use this report to import occupation codes (yrkeskode) published by the Norwegian Statistics Office on their website into the system.

You can access the most recent list of occupation codes (yrkeskatalog) from the homepage of Statistic Norway (Statistisk Sentralbyra, SSB) at http://www.ssb.no/a/yrke/ -> Oppdatert yrkeskatalog.

Note

Internet hyperlinks to third-party websites are intended to assist users in finding information. SAP does not assume responsibility for third-party information.

To be able to import the occupation codes, create a local copy of the yrkeskatalog as a .txt file.

Make sure that each line in the file has the following structure:

Yrkeskode; Loepenr; Yrkestittel

The elements in a line must be separated by semi-colons.

Example

1210;101;BANKDIREKTOR

9210;105;MOSEPLUKKER

Features

Selection

You can choose from the following processing options:

  • Display current list
Displays data that is currently stored in the table that you select in the Table(s) to be updated/viewedgroup box
  • Append new/delimit old entries:
You can use this option to add occupation codes to an existing list. The file that you use to import codes should contain only those codes that you want to add to the list. Existing valid codes are not affected by the change.
When processing the data, the report reads the list of occupation codes from the file that you have downloaded from the homepage of Statistics Norway and compares it to the existing entries in the selected database table. It makes changes as follows:
  • If a code already exists, and its text is the same, the report does not make any changes.

  • If a code already exists, but its in the file differs from the one in the database table, the report delimits the existing entry, and creates a new one with the new text from the file. The new entry is valid from the date that you specify in the Start date for entries field.

  • If a code in the file does not exist in the database table, a new code and the corresponding text is added to the list. In case the code and its text are stored in two different database tables, the new entries in both tables will be valid from the date that you specify in the Start date for entries field.

  • If any of the codes that are stored in the database table do not exist in the file, the system delimits the codes in the database table with the date preceding the one that specify in the Start date for entries field. For example, if you specify 01.01.2015 as the start date for entries, the system delimits the existing entry with the end date 31.12.2014.

  • Erase current list/Create new
If you choose to modify the complete list of occupation codes, the input file should contain all valid occupation codes. If an existing code is not found in the upload list, it is delimited.
When processing the data, the report deletes all entries from the selected database table and stores all codes and their texts from the occupation code file with a validity period starting from the date that you specify in the Start date for entries field.
We recommend that you use this option when you upload the list of occupation codes for the first time to the selected database table.
Note
If you use this option, you must use a start date 01.01.2003 or earlier.
  • Test run
This option allows you to check the results of the report run without actually updating the selected database. It is available for the Append new/delimit old entriesand Erase current/Create new list processing options.

Output

Depending on the option that you choose on the selection screen, the report imports occupation codes into one of the following tables:

  • Norwegian Yrkeskoder (table T5V5A)
If you choose this option, the system uploads the occupation codes to the T5V5A table. You can access this table in Customizing for Payroll Norway under EDAG reporting → Employment reporting → Occupation code Check job code catalogue.
  • PD Infotype 1051/subtype NOYK
The program stores the codes in the Personnel Development infotype 1015 subtype NOYK. On the level of database tables, this means that the report stores occupation codes in table T710S in the XXXX YYY format, whilst it stores the texts in table T710ST with the NOYK subtype.
The above mentioned format is made up of the following elements:
  • XXXX - YrkeKode (Yrke)

  • ' ' (space character)

  • YYY - Loepenummer (LNr)

  • PA Infotype 0033
The report reads the file and stores occupation codes as separate entries to the tables T543B and T543D. You can access this data in the Personnel Administration infotype Statistics (0033).
Possible values of XXXX are stored with statistics exceptions indicator '2', whilst possible values for YYY are stored with statistics exceptions indicator statistics '3'.
If you choose this option, the report does not store the texts from the import file; it only stores the codes as text entries.
This alternative allows you to use invalid combinations of XXXX and YYY. There are no validity checks to prevent this.

Note

The texts that you upload from the occupation code file are used by the system only to display code descriptions in search help. The texts are not included in EDAG reporting.
