Prerequisites

  • You already have Personnel Area MDF and Personnel Subarea MDF in Employee central.
  • Location is already configured to hold Personnel Subarea in Employee Central.

Context

The purpose of this report is to sync the Personnel Areas and Personnel Subareas between Employee Central Payroll and Employee Central. This is meant to run one time only and for the users with entries stored in the mapping table T77SFEC_KMAPPEST. You can run the report as many times as you wish, for example, in case of errors.

  • This will create new Personnel Areas and Personnel Subareas if there are no entries in Employee Central based on the mapping table T77SFEC_KMAPPEST.
  • When you run the report multiple times, the existing Personnel Areas and Personnel Subareas will be overwritten with details from Employee Central Payroll.

Note

  • The Personnel Area address will be updated for USA only.
  • Direct replication to production environment of Employee Central isn't possible. The Production mode option is grayed out during this scenario.
  • Make sure to rectify the errors from Test mode before executing Productive run.
  • The report doesn't update Personnel Area and Personnel Subarea which are already being assigned to FO Location in EC.

Output

Once executed, the report outputs a table displaying the status of each Personnel Area/Personnel Subarea combination with the respective messages.

Error Handling

The following errors can occur:

  1. No Personnel Subareas to create
How to solve it: Make sure both Personnel Area & Personnel Subarea exist in the mapping table T77SFEC_KMAPPEST for all the LOCATIONS
  1. Fail to create Personnel Areas due to missing legal entity mapping for company code
How to solve it: Make sure to maintain an entry in mapping table T77SFEC_KMAPCOMC for legal entity to company code mapping
  1. No data retrieved from source system
How to solve it: Check API call to EC and make sure EC instance is accessible. Use reportRP_HRSFEC_PTP_CONFIGURATION to check the connection to the Employee Central instance.
