Purpose

In monitoring in substance volume tracking, the system shows to what extent the quantity limits are reached for individual substances that are relevant for volume tracking.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • You have authorization to display the substance data for the required regulation (authorization object C_EHSRC_SV).

Features

In addition to the Regulatory List required entry field, you can use various display variants, and you can use the following optional parameters to restrict the data record:

  • Scenario
The system first determines all data records and then filters them according to the specified scenario. The system must first select all data records for the monitoring tables independent of the scenario so that the relevant overall status can be determined. You specify which scenarios are relevant for a regulation (regulatory list) in the IMG activity Specify Scenarios.
Entries for a scenario are not taken into account in the Material View or in the Substance View.
  • Overall Status
The system first determines all data records and then filters them according to the specified overall status. The system must first select all data records for the monitoring tables, so that the relevant overall status can be determined.
  • Year
  • Determination Date
Entries for the determination date are not taken into account in the Material View or in the Substance View.
  • Period
It only makes sense to enter a period if you have split a monitoring year into different monitoring periods because you want to monitor the substance quantities using time periods that are less than one year. In this case, you have made the relevant settings in the IMG activities Specify Monitoring Periods and Specify Scenarios.
  • Material
Entries for the material are not taken into account in the Substance View. Since a substance that is to be monitored can occur in several materials, restrictions to the material with regard to the overall status cannot be taken into account.
  • Specification
Entries for the specification are not taken into account in the Substance View. Since a substance that is to be monitored can be assigned to several specifications, restrictions to the specification with regard to the overall status cannot be taken into account.
  • Monitored Substance
  • Substance Is a Polymer
In the IMG activity Specify Scenarios, you specify for individual scenarios whether a substance to be tracked is to be labeled as a polymer. If you select the Substance Is a Polymer checkbox, the overall status is ignored when the data is filtered. The polymer labeling is not taken into account in the Material View and Substance View.
  • Plant
The system first determines all data records and then filters the data records according to the specified plant. The system must first select all data records for the monitoring tables so that the relevant overall status (which does not refer to a plant, but instead refers to the relevant company code) can be determined.
Entries for the plant are not taken into account in the Material View or in the Substance View. The plant is not relevant since the relevant details refer to a company code that covers all of the plants.
  • Company Code
  • Logical Destination
In the IMG activity Specify Functions for Volume Monitoring, you can specify customer-specific function modules for Status Determination, Data Display, and Additional Data Display. If you want to access data in another system from these function modules, you enter the relevant destination in the Logical Destination parameter.
  • Quantity Display
The overall status that is displayed for the tracked substance refers to each of the selected quantity displays:
  • Planned and confirmed quantities

  • Planned quantities

  • Confirmed quantities

  • Standard/History/Condense
  • Choose Standard Display if you want to see the current data record. The system displays the current data record that is stored in the corresponding monitoring table. The current data record is the data record with the current date for the relevant key fields that was written to the database using program RREGCH_VT (Substance Volume Tracking: Tracking of Substance Quantities). For the substance that is to be tracked, the standard display shows you the relevant materials, together with the specification that is assigned for each, and their components. The corresponding substance quantity that is displayed is the quantity that was already calculated using program RREGCH_VT.

  • Choose Display History if you want to display the increase in quantity. To display the increase in quantity, you must have set the Track History indicator in the Specify Scenarios IMG activity. If you set the indicator, the RREGCH_VT program creates a new entry and leaves the existing entries for the substance unchanged. This allows you to track the increase in quantity per substance.

  • Choose Condense -> Material View if you want to display a condensed view of the monitored data according to materials. The tracked quantities are then condensed to the following fields:

- Regulation (regulatory list)
- Overall Status
- Company Code
- Year or Period
- Material
- Specification
- Monitored Substance
- Internal/External Only Representative
The system determines and sorts all relevant materials for a regulation for each company code, and each year or period. The selection criteria Scenario, Determination Date, Substance Is a Polymer, and Plant are ignored when the data is filtered. If you did not specify an only representative in the selection criteria in the Material View, they may not be displayed in the hit list. Specify an only representative if you explicitly want condensed data for an only representative to be displayed. In this case, the only representative is displayed in the hit list.
  • Choose Condense -> Substance View if you want to display the condensed view of the monitored data according to monitored substances. The tracked quantities are then condensed to the following fields:

- Regulation (regulatory list)
- Overall Status
- Company Code
- Year or Period
- Tracked Substance
- Internal/External Only Representative
In the Substance View, the system determines the quantity of a tracked substance that was processed for a regulation, in a company code, per year or period. The selection criteria Scenario, Determination Date, Material, Specification, Substance Is a Polymer, and Plant are ignored when the data is filtered. If you did not specify an only representative in the selection criteria in the Substance View, they may not be displayed in the hit list. Specify an only representative if you explicitly want condensed data for an only representative to be displayed. In this case, the only representative is displayed in the hit list.

Further Explanations:

When you search, you may see a dialog box telling you that a certain number of objects was preselected and that further processing may take a long time. You can either continue or end the search. You can use the SVT_HITLIST_MAX_ENTRIES (Maximum Number of Hits for the Hit List) environment parameter to set the number of objects above which this dialog box appears. Note that the actual number of data records that is shown in the hit list can differ from the number of objects that was previously selected. You may also see the No data found error message. This is because selection criteria exist that cannot be taken into account during the determination of the overall status. Therefore, a greater quantity of data may first be accessed during the preselection.

Document Check:

The hit list for quantity tracking contains the Document Check function. You can use this to check the planned quantities and to delete invalid data records. Background: The system saves the planned quantities in substance volume tracking with reference to a source. Sources are logistical data, such as order numbers, or document numbers for purchasing and sales documents. Some logistical data, such as deliveries, can be deleted immediately, sometimes resulting in the reference to the source disappearing. The entry that has an invalid reference is obsolete and must be deleted.

Select a data record and choose Document Check. If a valid logistics document exists for the data record, you see a green check in the inspection status field. The inspection status is given a red traffic light if there are no logistics documents available and the data record is obsolete. This data record can then be deleted using the Delete Line(s) function.
