RSAU_LOAD_FILES - Load filebased Security Audit Log into Database

Purpose

RSAU_LOAD_FILES is used to transfer file-based log data into the current database table (RSAU_BUF_DATA or RSAU_LOG)

Only the log content from the database can be shown with web-based log readers.

Prerequisites

The log target in transaction RSAU_CONFIG must be set to Database.

Features

You can transfer the content from older log files into the database to make your analysis faster and to be able to archive also the file content.

Every file content transfer will be logged in SAL with the event EU6 in SAL and AVF in SysLog.

Further Selection Criteria

To prevent data that is merged in this way from being mixed up with the actual log data that is written to the database, the program set a stopmark before the oldest database written entry. It's the event ID AVS.

This tool will never transfer file-based data with a timestamp younger than AVS.

It's suggested to prefer to load the data directly from their instance (Option Load file-based log data (default data DIR_AUDIT)) to get always the full content. While using the manual file selection it can happen that the instance name for log records cannot be retrieved.

It's suggested to run the report in background because of the potential longer runtime and the detailed status log inside the job log. The tool is rather optimized to take care to system resources than the final runtime.
