Title

Maintenance of the Enhancement Sequence and Enhancement Release in Application Systems

Purpose

The program stores information about the order in which enhancement contexts you created in the Knowledge Warehouse in the customer namespace are tried by the SAP help processor when displaying contents in the "Application help" and the "SAP Library". To this end you specify a sequence of enhancements that are successively based on each other. The release of the most specific enhancement will tried first.

Integration

When application help is called, the SAP help processor uses entries from the control table to retrieve content to be displayed for specific enhancements from SAP Knowledge Warehouse. The Enhancement Release required to precisely define the version context of the contents cannot be found in these tables if the enhancements are in the customer namespace. Since in such cases the help processor assumes the system release (e.g. 750) as fallback value, contents from enhancements in the customer namespace are only displayed if their release name is the same as the SAP system release.

This program permits the storage of any release names for customer enhancements in the application system. The release name refers to the most specific enhancement in the given sequence of (customer) enhancements.

Activities

  1. Execute the program.
  2. Enter the names of the enhancements whose contents are to be displayed, starting at the top. Start with customer namespace /KWCUST/XX and, below that, enter any further enhancements you may have created in the Knowledge Warehouse that are based on one another, ending with the most specific enhancement from which you want to display contents.
  3. In field "Enhancement release", enter the release of the most specific enhancement.
  4. Choose "Execute".

Example

  • You developed content in Knowledge Warehouse system in enhancement context /KWCUST/AA, Release 1.0, based on SAP standard release 750, and would like to display this as application help in an SAP system.
Execute the program with the following values: in the top input field /KWCUST/AA, in field Enhancement release 1.0.
  • You developed contents in the Knowledge Warehouse system in enhancement context /KWCUST/AA (customer namespace), Release 1.0 and in enhancement context /KWCUST/BB, which is based on it, Release 2.0 and want to display these contents in an SAP application system.
Execute the program with the following values: in the top input field /KWCUST/AA, in the next field /KWCUST/BB, and in field Enhancement Release 2.0.
