RSPFL_HISTORY_DISPLAY - Changelog of profile parameters

Purpose

The report shows the changelog of profile parameters values. This changelog is created by the analysis of so called profile parameter snapshot files. The files are created in a global directory of the system by each instance during startup. A background job collects and processes the files weekly. All changes in the parameter snapshot files and dynamic changes in transaction RZ11 are logged on the database.

The report offers two screens

1. Changelog screen

On this screen, you display the changelog for selected instances/parameters. Enter instances/parameter names in the corresponding input fields and press Enter. All inputs are handled as patterns for the database selection. By default, the instance name is set to the application server you are logged on. The current values of selected parameters are shown below.

On the timeline of changes on the left you can see all timestamps on which the current selection of parameters was changed in the past. Use the "Next Change"/"Previous Change" buttons to go through the list of changes. Alternatively, you can double click on a timestamp in the timeline to display the parameters values for selected timestamp.

2. Snapshot Files screen

On the snapshot files screen you see all existing parameter snapshot files.

Update Changelog

Use the "Update Changelog" button from the application toolbar to read existing parameter snapshot files. Changes of parameter values are logged on the database.

Delete Changelog

Goto menu "Edit -> Delete Changelog" to delete entries from the changelog. All entries older than the specified date are deleted.
