After calling up the program, you arrive at the screen with a tabular view of the connected source systems. The activation status in BW is displayed for each source system.

Different options are available for executing the tasks:

  • If you want to check a source system, or activate and/or replicated the DataSources from the source system, set the respective indicator. Execute the program directly or in the background.
  • If you want to execute all possible tasks for a specific source system in the background, select the respective row and choose Edit -> Select Highlighted Rows/Columns. Execute the program directly or in the background.
  • If you want to execute a specific task for all source systems, select the respective column and choose Edit -> Select Highlighted Rows/Columns. Execute the program directly or in the background.
  • WIf you want to execute all possible tasks for all source systems, choose Edit -> Select All. Execute the program directly or in the background.

After you have executed the program, you can see in the Task Status column if the tasks were completed for a source system successfully or with errors.

You call up the respective log in which you select the corresponding row and choose Edit -> Display Log.

Notes for the Individual Tasks

Activation

A prerequisite for activating the source system by using this transaction or program is that an RFC connection has already been created. In this transaction you can make activations afterwards.

When you activate source systems, the source system connections are automatically checked before the activation.

Replication

If you replicate DataSources for source systems, the source systems are automatically check for correct source system connections and are activated before the replication.

You cannot replicate DataSources for database source systems and file source systems.
