Purpose

Use this report to transfer the structure of a bill of material (BOM) to the corresponding compliance data objects and their compositions.

Integration

You can start the initial load report in the application Product Compliance -> Services -> Bill of Material Transfer -> Transfer Bills of Materials.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the product variants are set to active for the BOM transfer. You can configure the active product variants in the Customizing activity Specify Composition Groups and Product Variants.

Features

Selection

You can use the following criteria to select BOMs:

  • Material
  • Material type
  • Plant
  • BOM usage
  • BOM application
  • Alternative BOM
  • Key date

You can use single values and intervals to select the relevant materials.

To run the initial load report for a larger number of BOMs, we recommend that you run the report in a background task.

In addition to the entry fields, you can use the following optional adjustments to transfer bills of material:

  • Transfer subordinate BOMs
A BOM can contain further subordinate BOMs. If you select this checkbox, the system transfers the subordinate bills of material that are assigned to the BOM. If you deselect this checkbox, the system transfers only the chosen BOM and does not consider the subordinate BOMs.
  • Perform Checks
In the Specify Checks and Single Criteria Customizing activity, you can define the checks that are executed by default. If you select this checkbox, the default checks are executed for the product structure after the bill of material transfer (BOM-BOS transfer).
  • Transfer Material without BOM
You can execute a BOM transfer for materials that do not have a BOM. In this case, the system transfers only the material and its supplier parts.
  • Trigger Workflow
If you select this checkbox, the system creates workflow tasks for the bill of material transfer.
  • Test Run
You can test the BOM-BOS transfer. In this case, the system does not write any data.
