Description

The ECN1 function group contains the runtime environment for the IS-U Navigator.

The IS-U Navigator is a tool, which you can use to display the data environment of an object as a hierarchy list. You can also execute different functions in the hierarchy list.

Call

You use the 'ISU_NAVIGATOR' function module to call the IS-U Navigator.

Information on the access object and analysis period is necessary as transfer parameters (see documentation for the function module interfaces). If not all transfer parameters are maintained, then the system takes the default values or the values resulting from the remaining parameters (for example, specification of object type -> the system automatically takes the default configuration for the object type).

Function Principle

Starting from a unique object (access object), the IS-U Navigator reads the environment entities related to the object. The entity relationships must be defined in advance in Customizing, so that the reading methods are already known at the runtime. The data is then prepared and output as a hierarchy list. The layout is, in turn, controlled through the Customizing tables.

Functions

Detail view

Clicking twice on a line calls the default method for the object (the display method).

Set focus

Setting a focus on one line makes the corresponding object an access object. This means that the IS-U Navigator is restarted with new transfer parameters. This makes it possible to navigate through the data structure. Additional object connections are found by new reading transactions.

Filter

A filter function allows you to show and hide certain lines in the hierarchy list. You define these lines in Customizing.

Analysis period

You can change the analysis period (key date or period) subsequently. The IS-U Navigator is then called again.

Dialog functions

You can use the action manager (AM) to define and execute any number of actions in the hierarchy list. The actions are grouped in an action group, and are defined in the Customizing for the action manager.

Customizing

The Customizing forms the basis for the IS-U Navigator work methods. It is described in the documentation for the ECNSTRUC table.
