The function group SUGN contains all external interfaces to the substitution nametab tables (SN tables) DDYTT, DDXTT, DDXTT, and DDNTT. The entire functionality is currently restricted to the logical tasks:

Name Use Function
create Export Generates DDIC entries
    for the SN tables
fill Export Fills the SN tables from
    the active nametab
get Import Reads an entry from the
    SN tables
set Exp./Imp. Writes an entry to the
    SN tables
del Imp. Deletes an entry from the
    SN tables

SAP plans to introduce the following logical functions:

  • set_mode
  • get_mode
  • mv_shadow2clone
  • mv_shadow2active

As soon as these interfaces are available, they will be included in the above table.

SAP would like to avoid the substitution nametab tables being accessed directly in any way. For organizational reasons, the various upgrade functions will in future also only work with the SN interface.
