Description

This program allows you to maintain valuation types, valuation categories, and the allocation of valuation types to valuation categories.

GLOBAL maintenance, that is, independent of any specific valuation area, is possible. (In the material master record, valuation data is managed on valuation area level. The valuation area can apply to one plant, several plants, or a company code.)

Thus, the global categories B (for 'reference') and H (for 'origin') and the global types FREMD, KOELN, PARIS, LONDON, etc. are defined, for example. In addition, the global types are allocated to the corresponding global categories: B-EIGEN, B-FREMD, H-KOELN, H-PARIS, H-LONDON, ..

Now, you only need to allocate the valid valuation categories to the valuation areas. This way, all category-related data is created LOCALLY, that is, for the corresponding valuation area. The various application transactions only reference the local valuation data.

For example, the global valuation categories B (reference) and H (origin) are allocated to a new plant X. This step not only creates the categories B and H for plant X, but also the corresponding valuation types EIGEN, FREMD for B and KOELN, PARIS, LONDON, .. for H as well as the corresponding combinations X-B-EIGEN, X-B-FREMD, X-H-KOELN, X-H-PARIS, X-H-LONDON, etc.

Any changes made to global data also affect the corresponding local data. However, local valuation categories and valuation types can be changed, if required. If local modifications are made, any changes subsequently made to the corresponding global valuation categories and types will not affect the local changes.
