Purpose

When you use central Change and Transport System (cCTS) job scheduling triggers program SCTS_QUEUE_IMPORT_CONTROL. It is not intended to start this program manually. You can either use transaction SZENCONFIG on the cCTS server (managing system) or program SCTS_SCHEDULE_IMPORT4QUEUED on the managed systems for the job scheduling.

Integration

When a transport collection is imported into a target cluster, the system checks for each transport request in the collection whether it will be imported into the correct target system. If so, the value of the TMS parameter OPERATION_MODE determines whether the imports take place in a sequential and synchronous order or in parallel and and asynchronously.

If the TMS parameter OPERATION_MODE is set to QUEUED or QUEUED_DYNAMIC, the import takes place in parallel (and asynchronously). For this, the SAP_TRIGGER_QUEUE_IMPORT_CONTROL event is triggered on the cCTS server (managing system). This starts the scheduled jobs for program SCTS_QUEUE_IMPORT_CONTROL on the managed systems. This program imports the transport requests that are part of a transport collection in the target system.

The transport requests are therefore imported in parallel in all relevant target systems. This parallelization of imports can reduce the overall duration of the import of a transport collection.
