Purpose

Normally, you can modify a PAL Printer only in its Central System, and not in a Target System. Therefore, the PAL Printer is locked from a modification in all Target Systems where it has been already distributed.

However, only in case of emergency, this program allows a temporary modification to the PAL Printer directly in the Target System.

You may need to modify your PAL Printer in Target System when:

  • PAL Central System is temporary not available
  • a PAL Printer is distributed with an inappropriate Spool Server information and it needs to be corrected locally in each Target System

You need to modify the PAL Printer in transaction SPAD.

Do not change Device Type or Access Method. Changing these will create an irresolvable inconsistencies in your PAL landscape.
