Purpose

This report is intended to be used from administrators to create a set of PAL Target Systems out of a set of RFC Destinations in one shot. For each RFC Destination an associated PAL Target System will be created.

If a RFC Destination is to be used in a PAL Target System definition it has to fulfill the following requirements:

  • No logon language has to be specified.
    If a RFC Destination is set up with a certain logon language, all messages that are produced on the Target System this RFC Destination is pointing to are produced in the logon language of the RFC Destination. If this language setting differs from the one the PAL user is using, these messages will be displayed in an 'incorrect' language.
  • The RFC Destinations logon user must not be the current user (checkbox 'Current' checked in 'Logon/Security' tab). Instead a logon user has to be explicitly specified.
  • The RFC Destination must not point to a Target System that is already known by PAL.
    PAL does not allow creating more than one Target System pointing to the same physical system.
  • The RFC Destination must not be used from any other Target System PAL knows.
  • The RFC Destination has to be operable and the system it point to has to be online.

Activities

  • Specify the RFC Destination which are to be used to create PAL Target Systems.
  • Specify a Target System description. This description will appear in PAL for all Target Systems that will be created in this run of the report.
  • Specify a Target System name prefix and suffix. These will be concatenated to the RFC Destinations name.
  • Specify whether you want to confirm before Target System creation will take place. Uncheck this checkbox if this report shall run in background.
