Purpose

Use this task to cleanup batchjobs and logs.

The task comprises:

• Deletion of batchjobs according to report RSBTCDEL2 (dependent on batch jobs status)

• Deletion of orphaned job logs according to report RSTS0024

• Deletion of TemSe objects according to report RSTS0043

• Cleanup of Background Control Table and Batch Event Criteria Tables

Prerequisites

At least 2 batch processes are required (one reserved for task manager, one for batch deletion report)

Execution

Deletion of batchjobs according to report RSBTCDEL2:

In the section Deletion of Batch Jobs,select the jobs to be deleted according to their status.

Finished and canceled background jobs are preselected.

In the section Performance Optimizationselect the following:

In the Commit input field, you can specify the number of data records after which a commit should be sent to the database. Value range from 1000 to 32767 is possible.

The option Do not delete temporary variantsavoids the deletion of temporary variants. This could be done later with report BTC_DELETE_ORPHANED_IVARISwhich is running also in the standard job SAP_DELETE_ORPHANED_IVARIS. This option is available with SAP Note 1751810.

Cleanup of Background Control Table and Batch Event Criteria Tables:

The system deletes configuration data irreversibly by truncating all tables of the following table component:
