Purpose

Component TMS comprises configuration data of the Transport Management System (TMS). After a system copy or a system refresh, TMS configuration (for example, transport parameters and transport routes) needs to be adapted to the target system.

Use this task to configure the Transport Management System (TMS) for a single system or a transport landscape according to transaction STMS.

Note:

This task is obsolete. Instead, the following tasks are available:

For use case Initial System Copy:

  • STCT_SC_CONFIG_TMS_SINGLE

For use case Refresh:

  • STCT_SC_EXPORT_TMS
  • STCT_SC_IMPORT_TMS
  • STCT_SC_PREPARE_TMS

Prerequisites

For TMS configuration of a transport landscape:

  • You are using a standard three-system landscape (DEV - QA - PROD).
  • The system to be configured must not be the domain controller of the transport domain.
  • Transport requests must never originate from this system.
  • Transport route configuration is the same as before the copy.

Dependencies

TMS must be configured in client 000. The task is not executable in other clients.

Check

Execution

  1. Choose one of the following options for TMS configuration:
  • Single System - Local Domain
    Sets up TMS for a single system in the local domain

  • Include System in Domain
    Includes this system again in its transport domain

  1. Enter the transport domain to which the target system belongs and the system ID of the source system
  2. ,,Maintain application log (ALOG) files
  • ,,Move ALOG files from DIR_TRANS to directory called ../ctc_data/refresh/TMS_ALOG_SAVE_,,

  • ,,Delete ALOG files from DIR_TRANS without moving
