Purpose

You can use the report Assignment of Breakdown Categories: Copying Between Special Versions to copy assignments of breakdown categories to items from a special source version (of type Account Assignment) to a special target version (of type Account Assignment).

Integration

You execute the report in the Tools view of the consolidation workbench under the entry Version-Specific Settings -> Copy Breakdown Categories Assignment.

Prerequisites

  • You have set the Version-Dependent Assignment indicator in the consolidation area settings in the Breakdown Categories group box.
  • You have assigned the breakdown categories in the source version.
  • You have created a characteristic value that is not equal to 100 for the special version of type Account Assignment.
  • You have assigned the new characteristic value for the special version type Account Assignment to the version combination.

Features

Selection

When you execute the report, a selection screen appears. Here you specify the following execution parameters:

  • Consolidation Area
  • Special Version of Source
  • Special Version of Target
  • Update Mode
  • Delete means that the system first removes all assignments that exist in the target version and then copies all assignments from the source version to the target version.

  • Overwrite means that the system copies those assignments that are different in the source and target versions from the source version and changes them in the target version. The system copies assignments that exist in the source version only but not in the target version from the source version and adds them to the target version.

  • Insert means that those assignments that are different in the source and target version are retained unchanged by the system in the target version. The system copies assignments that exist in the source version only but not in the target version from the source version and adds them to the target version.

  • Test Run Indicator
  • In the standard system, this indicator is set. The system then determines the number of assignments in the target version that are to be deleted, overwritten, or inserted and displays this result in a simple list. No changes are made to the database, however.

  • If you do not set the indicator, the system also makes changes to the database in the target version and changes the assignments of breakdown categories to items there.

  • Transport Changes Indicator
  • If you set the indicator, the system records the changes in a transport request.
