Purpose

Using the Copying of Preceding Task Relationships function, you can copy the preceding task relationships between tasks of a special source version (of the type Hierarchy) to a special target version (of the type Hierarchy).

Integration

The function is available in the Tools view in the consolidation workbench. Choose Version-Specific Settings -> Copying of Preceding Task Relationships.

Prerequisites

  • In the consolidation workbench, you have defined preceding task relationships between tasks in the source version.
  • You have created a characteristic value that is not equal to 100 for the special version of type Hierarchy.
  • You have assigned the new characteristic value for the special version type Hierarchy to the version combination.

Features

The function works with the update mode Delete All. This means that the system first removes all preceding task relationships that exist in the target version and then copies all preceding task relationships from the source version to the target version.

Selection

Specify the following execution parameters:

  • Consolidation Area
  • Special Version of Source
  • Special Version of Target
  • Test Run Indicator
  • In the standard system, this indicator is set. The system then determines the number of preceding task relationships to be inserted into the target version and displays this result in a simple list. No changes are made to the database, however.

  • If you do not set the indicator, the system also makes changes to the database in the target version and changes the preceding task relationships between tasks in the consolidation monitor.

  • Transport Changes Indicator
If you set the indicator, the system records the changes in a transport request.
