Purpose

You can use this report to delete change requests and their associated inactive master data in the current client.

Active master data are not deleted.

Prerequisites

  • For both the Delete Changes and Requests and the Delete Changes Only options, for authorization object USMD_CREQ you need the authorization with the Discard activity for the type of change request.
  • For the Delete Changes and Requests option, for authorization object USMD_CREQ you also need the authorization with the Delete activity for the type of change request. In order to delete the change documents related to the change requests, your user also needs to have one of the following two authorization options.
  • For authorization object S_SCD0_OBJ you need the authorization with the Delete activity for the object class USMD.

  • For authorization object S_SCD0 you need the authorization with the Delete activity.

For more information about authorization object USMD_CREQ, see USMD_CREQ.

Features

With this report, you can delete whole change requests including all of their associated parts, for example, inactive master data, workflow items, change documents, change request attachments, and etc. In this scenario, you select the Delete Changes and Requests Deletion Option.

You can also rollback inactive changes associated with change requests to return them to their original state without changing the request status or the current change request step. In this scenario, you select the Delete Changes Only Deletion Option.

Selection

On the report entry screen, you specify which change requests you want to delete or rollback. As selection criteria, you can enter Data Model, Change Request, Type of Change Request, Status of Change Request, Edition, Created By, and Created On.

You choose one of the Deletion Options to either delete of rollback the change requests.

Notes

  • If you do not enter a value for the selection criterion Data Model, the program selects only the change requests without a valid data model assignment. This only applies to change requests to which no data model is assigned or whose assigned data model does not exist in an active version. In this case, you can only delete the selected change requests because their assignments to master data changes no longer exists. Therefore, the system issues an error message when you choose the Delete Changes Only option.
  • If you enter the wildcard * for the selection criterion Data Model, the program processes all change requests with a valid model assignment.
  • You cannot delete change documents assigned to change requests with the status Final Check Approved.
  • In clients with the Productive Client role, you cannot delete change requests with the status Final Check Approved. For these situations, the change request archiving functionality is suggested. For more information, see SAP Note 2574330.
