Purpose

The LTR Knowledge Base can be used in system transfer, system consolidation and system conversion projects. It is designed to work as well in plain Netweaver systems that do not contain the complete range of data elements used in a SAP ERP system. All needed data elements are defined within the LTR Knowledge Base and are delivered as content in addition to the tool (tool delivery and content delivery can be separated).

The LTR Knowledge Base is SLO tool independent, which means that it can be used for example with the SLO migration workbench (MWB) as well as with the SLO conversion workbench (CWB) or other SLO tools. However, currently only MWB support has been implemented.

The LTR Knowledge Base works project based. For each SAP SLO project in which the LTR Knowledge Base should be used, at least one project needs to be created within the tool. The delivered content can be uploaded directly into a LTR Knowledge Base project.

The LTR Knowledge Base includes content about transparent and intransparent (non-transparent) conversion relevant information that exists in the SAP data model. It can be combined with different transformation tools (e.g. Renumbering Engine, Mapping Engine, Collector Engine) that exist for system transfer and system consolidation projects. The tools to be used can be defined in the customizing of the LTR Knowledge Base. The LTR Knowledge Base should be installed on the same system as the other SLO tools that are used for the SLO project.
