Functionality

This function module extracts event handler data along with its extension and parameters, event messages for an event handler, and groups of expected event messages based on Customizing settings for the SAP BW upload and SAP BW profiles. The upload tables are created and sent to SAP BW for reporting.

The function module can be called with task parameter 1set to the following values:

  • Space: Initial data upload to update the setup tables based on the upload tables for initialization on the SAP BW side
  • Any other value: Delta data upload to be initiated, for example, after an event handler has been deactivated or has completed its lifecycle. The upload tables are sent to a queue where they are picked up on the SAP BW side.

The return code is set to the following values, if errors occur. You can define reactions by logging the assigned error messages in the rule set:

  • 1 - Update mode set to no update
Message /SAPTRX/BWEX014: No data extraction to SAP BW due to general settings in Customizing
  • 2 - None of the three extraction structures / DataSources activated
Message /SAPTRX/BWEX014: No data extraction to SAP BW due to general settings in Customizing
  • 3 - No SAP BW profile assigned to event handler type
Message /SAPTRX/BWEX015: No data extraction to SAP BW as no SAP BW profile is assigned
  • 4 - System setting for SAP APO enablement is missing
Message /SAPTRX/BWEX013: System settings for data extraction to SAP BW are missing
  • 5 - No SAP Event Management client specified for data extraction
Message /SAPTRX/BWEX012: Client information for data extraction to SAP BW is missing
  • 6 - Data preparation was successful, but update to setup tables or delta queue failed
Message /SAPTRX/BWEX017: Data extraction to SAP BW failed
