Functionality

This function module can be called from an external quotation system, such as SAP Product, Quotation and Underwriting Management, within the context of a renewal.

The function module simulates the application data for a specific effective date and returns this data to the external quotation system. The external quotation system creates a renewal quote on the basis of the returned data.

Notes

  • You must enter the policy number and the effective date in the function module as import parameters. The function module then positions the application to the specified effective date and returns the following simulated data:
  • Information about the policy version on the specified effective date

  • Error and status messages (parameter ET_MESSAGES)

  • The function module calls the application using the Inquiry business process. This ensures that lock problems cannot occur with any other applications from the Change business process.
  • The creation of the application and the positioning of the application to the effective date are only simulated. This means that the function module does not change any policy data and does not save the application in the database.
  • The positioning is executed in Postdated mode (update type PDT). This ensures that the specified effective date is also reached if a default positioning (update type STD) is not possible due to missing calculation bases (as is the case for fund prices).
  • If the effective date for the positioning is identical to the end date of a contract within the policy, this contract is not reversed and is therefore still contained in the return data of the function module.
  • The function module must be called with input data in internal SAP data format, and it also provides the return data in internal format, for instance 20160202 instead of 02.02.2016).
  • This function module is for synchronous use, therefore it returns no exceptions.

Enhancements

You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) /PM0/ABT_SVC_AIS_BADI to add additional customer-specific fields to the output structure of the function module and to postprocess the messages generated by the function module.
