Functionality

This function creates or deletes a pattern chain iv_ch, depending on the mode iv_change_mode.

If a pattern chain is created, it_pt is a table of patterns in which the target profile of the pattern predecessor must match the source profile of the pattern successor.

A delete action for a pattern chain is performed only if there are no longer any dependent objects.
