Functionality

You can use this method to classify products.

This BAPI changes an existing classification or creates one if it does not yet exist. The classification is defined by the mandatory fields product key, class name, and class type in parameter "ProductClass".

The characteristics or values must be transferred in various parameters that depend on the type:

  • Numerical, time, and date characteristics in parameter "ValuesNum"
  • Character-type and Boolean characteristics in parameter "ValuesChar"

Note that this method can process data for products from various business system groups. The restriction to the business system group to which the specified logical system belongs no longer applies.

Notes

This method encapsulates the method "Change" of business object ObjectClassification (BUS3060) especially for classifying products.

This BAPI only changes the parameters of an existing assignment (or creates a complete assignment). It does not delete the assignment to a class nor replace this with the assignment to another class. If an object is otherwise assigned, the old assignments must be read using BAPI_PRDSRVAPS_GETCLASSES and deleted using BAPI_PRDSRVAPS_REMOVECLASSES. New assignments must be created using BAPI_PRDSRVAPS_SETCLASSES.

The characteristics and characteristic values transferred replace the old information completely.

This BAPI processes only evaluations of the classification and not the configuration!
