BAPI_STUDENT_CREATEFROMDATA2 - OBSOLETE (DO NOT USE): Create Student

Functionality

This BAPI creates a student, the associated business partner and required process data.

A student is created only if the parameter STUDENTPERSONALDATA contains at least the entries first name, last name, and correspondence language.

Notes

Important: If the BAPI returns an error, a ROLLBACK WORK must be executed. If no error occurs, a COMMIT WORK must be executed.

The above applies to each and every time the BAPI called. If these statements are not executed as required, data inconsistencies can occur.

Return messages:

The BAPI does not return exceptions. Messages are transferred in the table parameter 'return'.

Number assignment (object ID):

If no object number is transferred to the method, the system determines this number. When a number is transferred externally, the system checks if this number is within the external number range interval and if it has already been assigned to an existing object.

Number assignment (student number):

If no student number is transferred to the parameter STUDENTNUMBER, the system determines this number internally. If a student number is transferred, the system checks if this number is within the external number range interval and it it has already been assigned to an existing object.
