Functionality

With this method you can define the resources that are available for the background processing system at a specific time in a specific R/3 instance. The resources are determined for the specified instance taking into consideration the operation mode that is active at the specified time. The system returns the number of work processes for background processing, as well as the number of work processes that are reserved for jobs in priority class A.

This type of check of the available resources is not absolutely necessary. A background job is always executed unless the background processing system is completely out of operation.

The check is useful if a job must run on a specific instance. With this function module you can then determine whether any background work processes will be available on this instance at the job start time.
