Conflicts are often caused by inferences made from dependencies that contradict each other or contradicts with a user set value. The engine calculates the underlying set of user values and default values. Deleting one or several values can remove the conflict. The set of user values and default values that are causing the conflict are called a nogood.
The function module may return a set of nogoods grouped by conflicts. Alternatively as values can turn up in several nogoods the function module can return an ungrouped set of user values/ default values that are causing possibly several conflicts.
The returned nogoods consist of a nogood ID and a table of choices.
A choice is typed as a fact
- CHOICE_ID
- FACT_ID
- INST_ID
- OBSERVABLE_TYPE
- OBSERVABLE
- FACET
- SIMPLE_BINDING
- DOMAIN_BINDING
- AUTHOR
For the detailed explanation of fact structure see CFG_API_GET_TYPED_CONFLICTS.
A nogood has in general only facts of characteristic observables.
The CHOICE_ID is identical to ASSUMPTION_ID in CFG_API_DELETE_ASSUMPTION and can be used to delete a choice or assumption.
