Functionality

The host system generates a number which this function module uses to create a PCL Package Id in the remote system and call the Report Variant Scan tool.

The PCL Package ID is hence a unique identifier for the executable report scan activity. If the PCL Package ID already exists in the remote system at the time of execution, the function module automatically calls the Report Variant Scantool.

You can execute the required activities in the Report Variant Scan tool to carry out the analysis and conversion of the report variants.

Upon execution, the Report Variant Scan tool first reads the Chart of Accountstable to store the updated values of any obsolete parameter values that occur in the variants. Next, the tool analyzes all reports for their variants. Finally, the tool carries out a conversion process where it replaces the existing and obsolete parameter values with the updated values.

Note

You are required to have sufficient authorization in the remote system to create a remote PCL Package ID.
