CONVERSION_EXIT_ISOLA_INPUT - Convert two-digit ISO language -> one-digit SAP language key

Functionality

Conversion of a two-character ISO language key INPUT to its SAP internal single-character OUTPUT. All languages belonging to the ISO 639-2 standard (in 2005) are supported during the assignment.

If an INPUT known to the system cannot be converted to a single-character representation because the system is not a UNICODE system, it is converted to '#' instead.

An INPUT that is not known to the system triggers an error message and the exception UNKNOWN_LANGUAGE.

Single-character entries are (for reasons of compatibility) also supported, by passing them on unchanged to OUTPUT.

Notes

In the case of two-character entries, there is no need to distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters. However, in the case of single-character entries, lowercase and uppercase letters stand for different languages!
