Functionality

This function module reads entries from the database tables that store information about Data Medium Exchange Engine (DMEE) format trees.

First, the module checks if only key fields of the DMEE database tables are handed over by the calling program. In the next step, the function module checks if only one export parameter is supplied by the calling program in case that the 'select_single' indicator is set. Then the module checks if only one table parameter is supplied by the calling program in case that the 'select_single' indicator is not marked.

With the help of the tree type, which is part of the import parameters, the module determines the software component of the database table to be read. The two possible values for the software component are 'SAP_APPL' and 'SAP_ABA'. Knowledge of the software component is essential, because it influences the actual database table to be read.

Finally, the module reads the required entries of the corresponding database table.
