Functionality

You can use this customer enhancement for the check of the change steps, to determine that situations not covered by the Standard System are handled as conflicts.

When active, this customer enhancement is run each time a change step is checked. The information on which object category the call is carried out for is also transferred to the function module in the interface. In addition, the data structures of the object in question and the superior objects are available in the interface. When your system recognises a conflict, you must call a function module that issues a message. You determine the level of the conflict (information, warning, error) by the corresponding message type. Messages triggered in this way appear in the log for the change step, along with the collected conflict messages from the system and those for the conflict definitions in the change profile. In the overall assessment of the change step, the most serious conflict is the most important.

By setting the NO_EXEC_EXP parameter, you can define that the the "Do not execute" status is set for the change step. Note that the calling program only interprets the parameter if the change step is checked with the result "unequal".

To issue a message for a conflict situation, the "MESSAGE_STORE" function module must be called. For an example of calling this function refer to the example coding.
