Functionality
This function module replaces the outdated 'MOVE_FIELD_TO_VEKP' user exit. It allows you to fill in the handling unit attributes with customer-specific information when the handling unit header is created.
We recommend the following fields: handling-unit additional information (Handling_Unit-Zusätze) and the second identification number (EXIDV2).
Example
If the EXIDV identification was defined by assigning a Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC18) that is unique worldwide for at least a year, it may be a good idea to assign another ID in EXIDV2 for processes within the company. When you create handling units in a delivery, under certain circumstances, it is possible to determine the plant and storage location for the packaging materials with information from the header data and then use that information to generate packaging materials items.
Notes
The handling unit's external ID (EXIDV) must be unique if you have HU-managed storage locations in your
system or if you want to use the handling unit function in other areas besides delivery processing.
If the handling unit that was created is to be delivered at a later time using this number, we recommend
using a number that is unique worldwide so that this number is also unique for your customers and can be tracked or followed up, if necessary.
